Thanks to your generous investment in our community, Marin Advocates for Children realized the following achievements in fiscal year 2005-2006:


  125 Children served by Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) volunteers representing approximately 21,600 hours of in-kind service valued at $500,000

  The Child Abuse Prevention Council increased awareness of abuse and neglect through enhanced public relations campaign.

  CAPC coordinated the Annual foster and adoptive parent recognition event.

  CAPC provided educational conferences to over 1,200 parents and professionals on the effect of violence and abuse and neglect on children’s development.

  Trained new CASA volunteers to reduce wait list of children needing a CASA.

  Received feedback from the community that there is greater awareness of the need for volunteers and child prevention education.

  With your continued support, Marin Advocates for Children will:

Recruit and train enough new volunteers to reduce the number of children who are waiting for a CASA by 75 percent.

CTrain more than 300 mandated eporters of child abuse and neglect in 2007.

Coordinate Marin County's "Differential Response" effort to help reach families and children at risk of abuse and neglect.

Continue to provide leadership in the prevention of child abuse and neglect through systems advocacy and convening conferences to educate parents and professionals on the effects of abuse and neglect.


 
  Marin Advocates for Children works to reduce child abuse and neglect in our community by providing prevention education, training mandated child abuse and neglect reporters, and increasing public awareness of the issue of child abuse. We will continue to fulfill our mission and advocate on behalf of victims of child abuse and neglect, ensuring that every child realizes the promise of their future.
