FamilyFinders of Marin is a collaborative effort between Marin County Department of Social Services, St. Vincent’s Foster Family Agency, The Adoption Network of Catholic Charities and Marin Child Abuse Prevention Council, a program of Marin Advocates for Children.

Every day foster parents in Marin County demonstrate their commitment and dedication to the foster children they welcome into their homes. They provide abused and neglected children a chance to grow and be nurtured in safe and loving homes.

Nevertheless, FamilyFinders is aware of the need for more foster homes in Marin County and recognizes that foster children vary significantly in age, ethnicity and come into our system for a wide variety of reasons. Our goal is to have the perfect home for every child that comes our way regardless of that child’s needs. The agencies working together as FamilyFinders of Marin offer different options to meet the varying interests of prospective foster parents. By combining our resources as we recruit foster and adoptive parents, we offer a choice of agencies to work with.

FamilyFinders of Marin expects to attract a larger pool of quality foster parents to better serve the most vulnerable children in Marin County. FamilyFinders recognizes that not everyone can be a foster parent. Nevertheless, we believe that everyone in our community can contribute something to support our foster and adoptive families by promoting policy changes, helping to dispel negative stereotypes about foster families and foster children, and donating much-needed items like school supplies or precious extras like scholarships for summer camps, music classes or art lessons, or provide other opportunities that a foster child might not otherwise have without the help of each of us in this community.
