Everyone can find a way to volunteer time to make a difference to a child.

Become a Court Appointed Special Advocate–CASA

Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers are needed to work with children who are dependents of the court as a result of having been abused, neglected or abandoned.   Volunteers, who must be at least 21 years of age, undergo a thorough background and screening process and complete approximately forty hours of initial training.   As a trained CASA volunteer, you will meet and work with dedicated professionals working to help children and families reunify.   The skills needed for this volunteer job include: communication, problem solving and listening skills, combined with common sense and long term (eighteen month minimum) commitment.

People with bilingual and/or bicultural skills and experience are particularly needed.

Volunteer at our Special Events

Here’s a fun way to meet new people and attend our fabulous fundraising events. You can work on a committee to assist in planning and preparing for any or all of our special events. Or if you’d like a more hands-on adventure – you can play on a basketball team, sell cotton candy, organize outfits for models at a fashion luncheon, recruit sponsors, walk a 4K, post our flyers at your office, sell raffle tickets, bake Christmas cookies for kids, or sell popcorn. The list is ever-changing and there is something for everyone!

If you’d like to become a Marin Advocates for Children special volunteer, please contact Carol Powell at carol@marinadvocates.org, or call at 415-507-9016.

Serve as a Committee Member

If you have a special skill such as marketing, fund raising, and event coordination, we would love to speak with you about working on our special committees. This is a great opportunity to volunteer your time without having to make a huge commitment of time and to help us fulfill our mission to help Marin County’s abused and neglected children.
